When and how can I join IRSAM?

You can join IRSAM at any point during the school year, however, most people decide to join at the beginning of fall or alternatively winter term. To become an official IRSAM member, you have to buy a membership on our website. Membership dues are $15 per school year, and the membership needs to be renewed at the beginning of fall term, regardless of when you joined.

Do I need to become a member to participate?

You do not need to become a member, to receive our listservs, attend general meetings, or staff for one of our conferences, to name a few. However, if you want to try out for the Model UN Delegation Team, become a Dais member for SSUNS or McMUN, or obtain a leadership position within IRSAM, having a membership is mandatory. Furthermore, only active IRSAM members have voting rights.

What are the benefits of an IRSAM membership?

An IRSAM membership first and foremost allows you to participate in our organization to the fullest extent: in order to hold a leadership position, you need to be a member. However, this also includes becoming part of a community of like-minded individuals and having the opportunity to make many new connections. An IRSAM membership gives you the right to vote, and to put your own name forward for an election. Additionally, an IRSAM membership allows you to buy reduced tickets for the gala at the end of the year.
